What can I expect from astrology services at Nostoura?

  • Astrology is a spiritual practice in which the exact date, time, and location of our birth provides us with a map of the soul and the circumstances in which we incarnated.

    I think of the chart as mapping the deep-seated patterns that we return to over and over again, and that may have even transcended lifetimes. Through the wisdom of the birth chart, we can better understand sticking points and patterns and through awareness, create change. We can also learn how to live in greater relationship with the world and the cards that we have been dealt.

    What you will not find practiced at Nostoura:

    • Generalizations, trivializations, or stereotypes about zodiac signs (astrology memes are fun and have their place, but it isn’t here)

    • Using astrology as a substitute for personal accountability

    • The “right” answer or path to take — while astrology can provide insight into common patterns and their origins, it is up to us as individuals to discern our own paths forward. Also, from a decolonial lens, I strongly back the idea that there is no “one right way” and that this is a core idea founded in white supremacy culture (highly recommend https://www.whitesupremacyculture.info/ to learn more about this!)

  • There are so many reasons to book a reading! Here are some common ones:

    • You’d like a reflection of your inner knowing

    • You’ve lost sight of yourself and you’re seeking some reorientation through spiritual guidance

    • You have a history with religion or spirituality, and have faith in something bigger than yourself, but past practices never quite fit

    • You know the astrology basics already, and are curious about how it all fits together for your chart specifically

    • You’re into the “woo,” but find yourself feeling floaty and are seeking some grounding

    • You’re just curious about what all of this is about!
